Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian foreign ministry, in a commentary on August 18 accused the UK of escalating disputes.

Noting Russia will not accept any scenario of foreseeing the deployment of NATO forces in Ukraine, she said that the repeated clamours in this regard being made in the UK and some other European countries once again reveal their very bellicose and greedy desire.

She said that the UK did not hide the fact that it regards Ukraine as a means of confrontation with Russia even before the start of Russia’s special military operations, adding that it has taken the lead in supporting and aiding the Ukrainian puppet regime for the recent several years.

She stressed that the UK’s bellicose tendency of openly instigating combat actions proves that it is not interested in the coordination of the dispute but is doing everything possible to keep the bloodshed going.

The British are actually spoiling the opportunity for Ukrainians to escape from the dispute by means of dialogue and prolonging the sufferings of the Ukrainians, she said, urging the British authorities to stop the adventurous and reckless political suicide.
