The Sangwon Cement Complex, the Sunchon Cement Complex, the Chollima Tile Factory and other units in the field of building-materials industry increased production.

The light industry sector waged a drive for increased production and creation to diversify consumer goods and improve their quality.

The fishing sector including the Yanghwa, Songdowon, Hongwon and Soho fishery stations introduced rational fishing methods to meet the changing fishing conditions, thus recording good results in catching fishes.
