Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, received a message of greeting from Daniel Ortega Saavedra and Rosario Murillo, co-presidents of the Republic of Nicaragua, on September 1.

The message extended the warmest and sincerest congratulations to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the Workers' Party of Korea and the heroic Korean people in reflection of joy and pride on behalf of the government for national reconciliation and unity and the people of the Republic of Nicaragua and on their own behalf, on the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

On the occasion of this historic day celebrating the victory that the fraternal people of the DPRK won in the struggle against the imperialist forces, we remember the great leaders Comrade Kim Il Sung and Comrade Kim Jong Il with special love and reverence, the message said, adding:

With the revolutionary and deep feelings of friendship, the Sandinist National Liberation Front and the government for national reconciliation and unity and the people of Nicaragua reaffirm our steadfast will to continue to strengthen the fraternal solidarity, friendship and cooperation and the ties of historic struggle that link the two peoples and governments into one.

The message extended fraternal embraces reflecting the love and respect of the Nicaraguan people.
