The Netherlands, Sweden and Slovenia recently urged the European Union to double pressure against Israel and take stronger measures.

The foreign ministers of the Netherlands and Sweden in their letters to the European Union said that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is unacceptably poor and the sufferings of civilians are indescribable.

They called for imposing sanctions on the extremist cabinet ministers of Israel who are fostering illegal settlement in the West Bank and stubbornly hindering the two-state solution.

Meanwhile, Slovenia branded Israel’s atrocities in Gaza as massacres. If they are not called into question, it will entail a bloodier clash, it said, warning that if Europe does not modify its stand, it will lose its international influence.
