“The people are God”, single-minded unity and self-reliance serve as the guidelines for action and banner of advance in making this year a year of turn for providing an upward track to a higher stage of development in the DPRK.

The history of the Korean revolution is that of the struggle to realize the people’s dreams and ideals and achieve the ideological and volitional, moral obligation-based unity of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the revolutionary ranks, and that of self-reliance which has enabled them to advance, working miracles by themselves.

The Party turned the revolution itself into love for and trust in the people and victoriously advanced the revolution on the strength of unity and in the spirit of self-development and self-determination.

Thanks to the ideals of “The people are God”, single-hearted unity and self-reliance, the country turned from a country which had lagged behind others for centuries into a socialist state independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence, won victory in the unprecedented struggle for defending socialism and greeted a new era of overall national rejuvenation.

The ideals embody the revolutionary stand of the Party to bring earlier a new era of overall national rejuvenation by further strengthening the driving force.

The circumstances and conditions of the revolution may change with the advance of the times and history, but the principles of the revolution that it serves the people and solves all problems by dint of united strength and on the principle of self-reliance cannot change.

The Party has never deviated from the stand and attitude of regarding the people as sacred things and respecting them as its mentors despite the serious national crisis and ever-changing objective situation, and has triumphantly advanced Korean-style socialism, regarding single-minded unity and self-reliance as the lifeline of the Korean revolution.

The country’s inexhaustible development potentials and its development capability peculiar to it are the precious fruition of the efforts to thoroughly and perfectly apply to revolutionary practice the ideals of “The people are God”, single-hearted unity and self-reliance put forward by the Party.
