Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, received a congratulatory message from Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on September 9.
The Lao president in the message extended warm congratulations, on behalf of the Central Committee of the LPRP, the government of the LPDR and its people and on his own behalf, to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and through him, to the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and all the fraternal DPRK people on the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the DPRK.
As close friends of the fraternal DPRK people, they are very proud of and pleased about great successes achieved by the DPRK people for the past 70-odd years, he said, adding that they are sure that the DPRK would make successes continuously in carrying out the cause of building a socialist power under the wise leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea headed by Kim Jong Un.
He expressed the will to closely cooperate with Kim Jong Un to bring substantial benefits to the peoples of the two countries, defend peace and stability in the region and the rest of the world and achieve cooperation and development by further expanding and developing the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties, two states and two peoples of Laos and the DPRK with a long tradition.
He wished Kim Jong Un good health and happiness and greater new success in his noble and honourable work.
