Youth and students met with meritorious persons of socialist patriotism and socialist patriotic youth pioneers at the Central Youth Hall in Pyongyang on September 8 on the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

Present there were Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, officials of the youth league and youth and students in Pyongyang.

The meritorious persons of socialist patriotism and the socialist patriotic youth pioneers made speeches at the meeting.

Mun Kang Sun, workshop manager of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill, told about the benevolence bestowed on her by the peerlessly great men who put forward the ordinary weaver as a labour heroine known to the whole country and a model of the times and showed her loving care to be remembered through generations.

She requested the youth and students of the new generations to regard loyalty to the country and patriotism as the greatest honour and worth and decorate their youth with the clear-cut footprints of their lives.

Kim Won Chol, workteam leader of the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery Preservation Institution who is devoting his sincerity to preserving the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong, said about the loving care of the Workers' Party of Korea which appreciated his efforts to grow healthily every tree and blade of grass at the cemetery with affection by awarding him the honour of a meritorious person of socialist patriotism, implanting in the minds of the new generations the truth that the youthful days shine more when the vibrant youth is dedicated to the motherland.

Ri Hyang in the heavy machine unit of the Pyongyang Construction Commission referred to the fact that she became a bulldozer driver even though she was a girl and improved her technical knowledge and skills true to the Party's plan for capital construction, and performed labour feats in many major construction projects in those days.

Then followed speeches.

Speakers expressed their will to demonstrate the spirit and mettle of the patriotic youth by following the example of the meritorious persons of socialist patriotism and the socialist patriotic youth pioneers.
