Nation celebrates National Day

All the people across the DPRK significantly celebrated the birthday of their beloved motherland as an auspicious holiday.

An endless stream of visitors flowed to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il are preserved in their lifetime appearance.

The plaza before the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun was full of profound reverence for the peerlessly great men who built a genuinely independent and sovereign state and opened up the eternal future of the country demonstrating its might as a country of miracles and heroes.

Officials, working people, service personnel, youth and students visited the statues of the great leaders and mosaics depicting their images across the country including Mansu Hill to pay floral tribute to them.

Many working people visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong associated with the noble soul of the revolutionary forerunners, the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri, the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery, cemeteries and graves of martyrs and the memorial towers for the fallen soldiers of the Korean People's Army across the country.

Colourful art performances were given in Pyongyang and other parts of the country, boosting the joy of national day.

Dance parties of young people and women's union members held in all parts of the country revved up the atmosphere of the holiday.

Service establishments in the capital city and other parts of the country were crowded with visitors.

Working people and schoolchildren enjoyed themselves at the Central Zoo, the Natural History Museum, the Munsu Water Park and other recreation grounds in Pyongyang.
