Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a congratulatory message from Aleksandr Lukashenko, president of the Republic of Belarus, on September 9.

In the message, the Belarus president, on behalf of his compatriots and on his own behalf, extended congratulations to the DPRK leader on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the DPRK.

He said that the DPRK has forced its way through lots of trials for strengthening its people's spirit and defending its independence and specific characteristics since it declared the founding of a sovereign state in 1948.

The history of development of the relations between Minsk and Pyongyang serves as a model of the peace-loving mutual cooperation based on the principle of friendship and equal dialogue and the similarity in the moral and cultural values, he noted.

He said that he is recollecting the recent meeting with Kim Jong Un in Beijing with a warm heart.

He hoped that the cooperation between Belarus and the DPRK and the common work in international organizations would bring benefits to the peoples of the two countries and boost trust and mutual understanding.

On the occasion of the holiday, he wished Kim Jong Un good health and new successes and the citizens of the DPRK peace and prosperity.
