The US state secretary issued a statement on September 4 to declare that the US will launch counterattack against the influence of China on Central American countries.

Answering a question raised by a journalist as to this on September 8, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the US is shaking its fist at the normal exchanges and travel between Central American countries and China, and that its slander is malicious and groundless.
