The Academy of Light Industry under the Ministry of Light Industry has made a series of achievements conducive to improving the people’s living standards.

The Textile Research Institute established a new spinning technique suited to the characteristics of Lyocell fibre, solved technical problems arising in further improving the quality of school uniform cloth and perfected the method of producing crepe which has considerable absorptivity and anti-crease ability and which is not easily electrically charged by friction.

The long-acting waterproofing material developed by researchers of the institute is highly appreciated at different units for the great waterproofing effect.

The High-speed Textile Equipment Institute improved the quality of nano composite plastic belt haircloth, established a technique for producing blended yarn in the air-spinning process, developed a regenerated fibre lap-forming machine and solved other urgent problems arising in practice, and proved the effectiveness of those solutions at the newly-built regional-industry factories.

It also succeeded in making a new-type dyeing facility capable of increasing the dyeing speed and improving the evenness of dyeing, while using less water, with its own efforts and technology.

The Plastic Processing Institute developed a tube push mill for feeding raw materials and a production process for a raw material cutter, which have been introduced into different daily necessities factories.

Researchers of the Essential Oil and Cosmetics Analysis Institute intensified research into newly making various essential oils with locally available raw materials and rationally applying Phytosine to the cosmetics sector, thereby greatly contributing to researching and developing various functional cosmetics.
