A national symposium in the field of printing industry took place at the Sci-Tech Complex in Pyongyang on September 23-24 under the sponsorship of the Korean Printing Technology Association of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.

Present there were officials, lecturers, researchers and postgraduate students of the Publication Guidance Bureau, the Minju Joson Offices, Pyongyang University of Publishing and Printing Industry and other units.

The symposium heard valuable papers conducive to consolidating the material and technical foundations of the printing industry by realizing the domestic production of equipment, raw and other materials. And there was a question-and-answer session related to them.

The studies on the establishment of a lithographic plate production line, the manufacture of auxiliary materials for lithography and water-base ink and other proposals were highly appreciated as they have high utility in realizing the modernization of printing process and solving the problems of raw and other materials.

During the period there was a lecture on the world trend of development in the field of printing industry.
