DPRK player Kang Hyon Gyong proved successful at the 2025 International Weightlifting Federation World Championships.

In the women's 53kg category event that took place on October 3 (local time), Kang Hyon Gyong lifted 93kg in snatch, 121kg in clean and jerk and 214kg in total and thus took the first place in clean and jerk and in total respectively and the second place in snatch.

Meanwhile, Pang Un Chol was placed second in clean and jerk of the men's 60kg category and third in total.
