Lao President arrives in Pyongyang

At the invitation of Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, arrived in Pyongyang by the presidential plane on October 7 to pay a congratulatory visit to the DPRK on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK.

The flags of the DPRK and the LPDR were fluttering at the flagstaffs in Pyongyang International Airport and the guard of honour of the Korean People's Army lined up at the apron before the terminal.

Kim Song Nam, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and director of the International Department of the WPK Central Committee, and Im Chon Il, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, greeted Thongloun Sisoulith.

A woman worker presented a fragrant bouquet to him.

Lovely children welcomed the goodwill envoy of the Laotian people, waving the flags of the two countries.
