General secretary of CPV Central Committee arrives in Pyongyang to visit DPRK

To Lam, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, arrived in Pyongyang by his plane on October 9 to pay a state visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and take part in the celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea at the invitation of Comrade Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The flags of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam were fluttering on flagstaffs at Pyongyang International Airport and a guard of honour of the Korean People's Army lined up at the apron before the terminal of the airport.

He was greeted by Kim Song Nam, alternate member of the Political Bureau and director of the International Department of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Im Chon Il, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK.

A woman worker presented a bouquet to To Lam.

Children welcomed the friendly mission from Vietnam, waving the flags of the two countries.
