Lao President leaves Pyongyang

Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, left Pyongyang on October 8 after paying a congratulatory visit to the DPRK on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea at the invitation of Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The flags of the DPRK and the LPDR were fluttering at the flagstaffs at Pyongyang International Airport and a guard of honour of the Korean People's Army lined up at the apron before the terminal.

Thongloun Sisoulith was warmly seen off by Kim Song Nam, alternate member of the Political Bureau and director of the International Department of the WPK Central Committee, and Im Chon Il, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs.
