To Lam, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, left Pyongyang by his plane on October 11 after paying a state visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and taking part in the celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea at the invitation of Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The flags of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam were fluttering on flagstaffs at Pyongyang International Airport and a guard of honour of the Korean People's Army lined up at the apron before the terminal of the airport.

To Lam was warmly seen off by Kim Song Nam, alternate member of the Political Bureau and director of the International Department of the WPK Central Committee, and Im Chon Il, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs.
