Since it had a hammer, a sickle and a writing brush inscribed on its red flag, the Workers’ Party of Korea has never become separated from the people even for a moment but advanced the revolution, holding them in high esteem as God all the time.

The Party, however, gives priority to children before the people whom it holds in high esteem as God.

In retrospect, the issue of pencils for children was put on the agenda for a meeting of the provisional people’s committee after Korea’s liberation and a history of providing children with clothes made at state expense was created even during the reconstruction in the country with everything destroyed and ruined during the Fatherland Liberation War. Measures for children were incessantly taken, including the construction of children’s palaces in different parts of the country and the presenting of gifts to all schoolchildren across the country at the same time.

Enjoying the ever-growing care for them, all the children sincerely and unreservedly sang and sang the song “We Are the Happiest in the World” containing the lines “Our father is Marshal Kim Il Sung” and “Our home is the Party’s bosom”.

The Party’s love and care for the children are growing stronger now when a new era of overall national rejuvenation is being ushered in.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un set it as a major policy to supply dairy products and other nutritious foods to the children across the country at state expense at the historic Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee.

He repeatedly stressed the need to decisively increase milk production, develop milk processing technology and thoroughly ensure the quality of dairy products through his historic policy speech delivered at the Fifth Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK and the letter he sent to the participants in the Ninth Congress of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea.

He personally calculated the number of children at nurseries and kindergartens throughout the country and the daily consumption of milk and even tasted milk powder produced on trial by Pyongyang Municipality. Under his care, the law on childcare that institutionally guarantees the Party’s childcare policy was adopted at the Sixth Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK.

At the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee, the General Secretary said that it is the consistent policy of the Party and the DPRK government to provide all the students of the country with school uniforms and things at state expense, set forth a task of supplying all of them with quality uniforms and bags of new forms without exception and took an important measure of the Party Central Committee for implementing it.

A colossal sum of money was appropriated for the task as the supply of school uniforms to children is not a work that might be done under favourable conditions or might not be done under unfavourable conditions, but the policy of the Party and the eternal state policy of the Republic that must be done unconditionally and preferentially.

Under his meticulous care, a nationwide technical training course was organized for the production of school uniforms.

Saying that the Party should take full charge of solving the problem of school uniforms, shoes, school things and satchels for schoolchildren, he personally solved all the problems arising in establishing a bag canvas production process and named the brand of the school bags “Sonamu (pine tree)”.

Under the care of the General Secretary who is making the socialist country brighter and more beautiful by devoting himself to the rising generations, a well-knit system and order have been established for the production and supply of dairy products and new forms of school uniforms, bags, shoes and school things. Also, newcomers of all primary, junior and senior middle schools and universities and colleges across the country from the capital city of Pyongyang to remote mountain and island villages are provided with uniforms, bags and shoes on the occasion of every new school year and all the children and students throughout the country with Mindulle notebooks and other school things.

He stressed once again at the Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee that it is the consistent policy of the WPK and the eternal national policy of the DPRK that the Party and the government supply necessities for schoolchildren in a responsible manner and clarified the principled issues to be maintained in the production and supply of school uniforms, bags and shoes in the new year and the ways for implementing them.

The happy laughter of children, the pride of the country which capitalism can neither imitate nor possess, and the singing of the song “We Are the Happiest in the World” are resounding as the most beautiful and excellent paean to the great era of Kim Jong Un year after year.
