China rejects US’ tariff threat
October 19, 2025A spokesman for the Chinese foreign ministry denounced the US’ tariff threat at a press conference on October 13.
As regards the US’ threat that it might additionally levy a 100% tariff on Chinese goods from November 1, he said that the US has recently come out with a series of restrictive measures and sanctions in succession to severely encroach upon the interests of China.
Censuring the US for threatening China again with a high tariff instead of reflecting on its behaviour, he emphasized that if the US persists in such conduct, China will take corresponding countermeasures to defend its legitimate rights and interests.
