DPRK Taekwon-Do players come back home
October 20, 2025Trustworthy Taekwon-Do players of the DPRK came back home on October 18 after demonstrating the honour of the country at the 23rd Taekwon-Do World Championships held in Italy between October 3 and 13.
The championships brought together over 1 180 men and women players from more than 70 countries and regions including the DPRK, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Greece, Canada and Argentina.
The DPRK players won 74 medals including 46 golds and a trophy and came first in the country standings.
They took first place in the men's and women's team pattern competitions in the senior, youth and juvenile categories, women's team sparring matches in the senior category, men's team sparring matches in the youth category, men's and women's team self-defence routine matches in the senior, youth and juvenile categories and women's team power breaking matches in the senior category.
They were warmly greeted by Kim Kum Chol, secretary general of the Cabinet who is member of the National Sports Guidance Committee, officials concerned and officials of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee and the families of the players at Pyongyang International Airport.
Sportspersons put garlands around the necks of the players and coaches and gave bouquets to them, congratulating them on their successes.
