The DPRK embassy in Moscow hosted a reception on October 17 on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the DPRK and the Russian Federation.

Present there at invitation were personages of the government, parliament and political parties of Russia including the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the State Duma and the United Russia Party.

Also present there were the DPRK ambassador to Russia and staff members of his embassy.

The participants laid a flower basket and bouquets before the art work depicting President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il standing together and paid tribute to them.

They also looked round the photos showing the precious revolutionary careers and exploits of the great leaders and the immortal exploits performed by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for the development of the DPRK-Russia friendly relations, the works of the peerlessly great men and other photos showing the invincible might and proud development of the DPRK.

Speeches were made there.

The DPRK ambassador said that the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Russia provided a sure guarantee for further strengthening and steadily developing the friendly ties between the peoples of the two countries forged with blood and the feelings of comrade-in-arms during the anti-Japanese war.

He noted that it is the steadfast will of the DPRK government to continue to carry forward the DPRK-Russia relations, which were forged under all sorts of trials and challenges of history and which have developed into the genuine comradely relations and alliance relations, into the heyday of overall development.

A vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia said that the Russia-DPRK friendly relations have reached a new level of alliance in quality through decades-long verification.

It is truly an epochal event that President Putin and President of the State Affairs Kim Jong Un signed the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership in Pyongyang on June 19 2024, he said, and continued:

The fact that the Korean soldiers took part in the operations to drive the Ukrainian neo-Nazis and foreign mercenaries out of Kursk Region clearly proved our unity.

We will always remember that the brave Korean soldiers fulfilled their combat duties with credit by devoting their blood and lives together with the Russian soldiers in the most difficult and responsible period.

We are convinced that the Russia-DPRK friendly and cooperative relations will as ever develop vigorously and contribute to strengthening the stability and security on the Korean peninsula and in the rest of Northeast Asia.

A vice-minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the DPRK, the two countries have marked the date as a common anniversary, regarding it as the beginning of the development of multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation between equal sovereign states. In the period, the bilateral relations have passed the tests of time, he noted, adding that it constitutes a new stage of development of bilateral cooperation that President Putin and President of the State Affairs Kim Jong Un signed the treaty on the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and the DPRK.

The participants toasted the good health of Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, and Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, and the strengthened DPRK-Russia friendly and cooperative relations.
