The exhibition brought together more than 68 000 pieces of light industry goods of over 600 kinds produced by 580-odd units across the country, including the modernly-renovated Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory, the Pyongyang Leather Shoes Factory, the Pyongyang Hosiery Factory, the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory, the Songdowon, Amnokgang and Paegunsan general foodstuff factories and the Pyongyang Dental Hygiene Supplies Factory.
It was divided into 17 exhibition sections. On the first floor were textile and knitted goods, garments, shoes, bags, cosmetics, electrical goods, school things and office supplies and products of regional-industry factories of 20 cities and counties, and on the second floor were foodstuffs, household articles, hygienic supplies, articles of cultural use, furniture and building parts, craftworks, articles of daily use and mobile phones.
What was noticeable was that all products were produced in the country while preserving regional features.
The Songdowon General Foodstuff Factory attracting the attention of the food industry sector for high production growth exhibited hundreds of kinds of goods in the current exhibition.
The factory recently upgraded several production processes and positively developed new products, thus remarkably increasing the output of foodstuffs and variety of products as compared to previously. Many visitors purchased the products of the factory including steamed bread, condensed milk table bread, fresh milk table bread, milk sponge cake, strawberry-cream sponge cake, yeast bread and chocolate biscuit.
The instant rice, instant noodles and grain chips, which the Taedonggang Kumok Instant Rice Factory produced in a diverse way and conveniently to suit the taste of the Korean people, were very popular with housewives.
Many people visited the booth of the Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory bearing the Maebongsan brand which is widely known not only to Wonsan, but also to Pyongyang.
“The factory established a shoes production process using hot melt core wire while making different kinds of shoetrees in line with the requirements of shoe engineering, thereby bringing about progress in ensuring convenience of leather shoes. So we have displayed dozens of kinds of quality shoes that are shapelier than previous ones,” said the manager of the factory.
The participants showed interest in various types of convenient trainers of the Ryuwon Footwear Factory which are pleasing to see and wear.
And at the exhibition experts highly appreciated an air conditioner that removes fine dust and pathogenic bacteria for family use, washing machine, deep-freezer, rice cooker, electric iron, different types of mobile phones with unique quality and refined and enhanced formative beauty and new and original furniture which can be used for various purposes.
During the exhibition there were lectures on the development of light industry associated with the immortal leadership exploits of the Workers’ Party of Korea, sci-tech presentations of different sectors and experience-sharing meetings.
