The Phyongsong Bag Factory was selected as one of the top ten businesses of the country for 2024.

As it found the key to increased production for the implementation of schoolbag production plan in building up its technological development force, the factory pushed ahead with the technical upgrading of its production processes.

It ensured the good quality of schoolbags by upgrading a seam strength measuring instrument through a mass technical innovation drive, improved cutting accuracy and made an efficient use of the production area by rationally upgrading the laser cutter to suit the specific conditions of the production site and made it possible to increase production by installing more hydraulic presses.

It also introduced into production well over a hundred pieces of newly developed jigs and equipment of 40-odd kinds.

Positive introduction of over 10 advanced processing methods into production, along with the technical upgrading of production processes, has proven substantially effective in ensuring the growth of products both in quality and quantity.

The factory devised an efficient processing method capable of satisfying the requirements of the designs by effectively using the scraps of compressed sponge from cutting in processing the handles and shoulder-straps of schoolbags and generalized it in other bag producers across the country.

It introduced a new technology of raised printing of brands on synthetic leather and nearly trebled productivity by increasing the accuracy in processing ornamental bands.

It also made substantial progress in the training of skilled workers.

The factory made a plan for training skilled workers in conformity with the specific conditions of workteams to establish a well-knit system for the training of new machine operators and fostered competition between highly skilled workers, between skilled workers and between new operators.

As the employees have enhanced their technical knowledge and skills day by day, it has successfully fulfilled its economic plan every month and nearly doubled their monthly average wage as compared to that in 2023.
