Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected various sectors of South Phyongan Province.

Choe Ryong Hae visited Pit No. 5 at the Inpho Youth Coal Mine of the Pukchang Area Youth Coal-mining Complex, where he stressed the importance of coal production in developing the country's economy and improving the people's standards of living, calling upon officials and workers to wage a vigorous struggle for increased production with great patriotic enthusiasm and thus attain this year's goal of coal production set forth by the Party without fail.

He said priority should be given to tunnelling as required by the Party's policy in order to secure new coalfields, advanced coal-mining methods actively introduced and the coal transport capacity steadily increased.

At the township farm in Unsan County, he pointed to the need to effectively push ahead with the immediate farm work including threshing so as to conclude farming well and make steady preparations for next year's farming on the basis of this year's farming experience.

He noted that the farm should actively apply advanced farming methods and methods of raising domestic animals under the uplifted banner of scientific farming and animal husbandry, continue to direct big efforts to increasing the proportion of the farm work done by machines and further consolidate its material and technical foundations.

At the Unsan Prospecting Machine Factory, Choe Ryong Hae called on its officials to hold fast to science and technology, organize and direct production carefully and improve the technical knowledge and skills of the employees so as to produce quality prospecting machines properly. He discussed the ways to this end and took necessary measures.
