Through mass technical innovation drive
October 27, 2025The Samchong Mine under the Sangwon Cement Complex, which is creating new standards and records to successfully carry out the five-year plan set forth by the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, was selected as one of the top ten enterprises in 2024.
“All the employees were overjoyed to hear the news that our mine was selected as one of the top ten enterprises. Because it was none other than our mine that was honoured with it among many factories and enterprises,” said Pak Chun Bong, manager of the mine.
The Samchong Mine is a unit that supplies gypsum needed for the production of cement at the Sangwon Cement Complex.
In recent years the mine has increased production by strengthening its own technical force, while consistently pushing ahead with the recycling and domestic production of materials and equipment.
It found the solution to carrying out the highly-set increased production task in strengthening the talent force and radically improving technical management.
The officials of the mine set the recycling and domestic production of materials and equipment as the main direction of technical innovation and took positive measures to inspire creativity of the employees.
A variety of activities were carefully planned and vigorously conducted to broaden the horizons of technicians and skilled workers and improve their practical ability and everyone made positive efforts to put forward technical innovation plans conducive to increased production.
In the course of it, good ideas were presented one after another which were effective in raising the blasting efficiency and ensuring normal operation of equipment.
Effective drilling and blasting and scientific mining methods were applied to suit the actual conditions and hydraulic loaders made by exploiting internal reserves and potentials to increase the mineral output while saving a great deal of manpower. The introduction of a technical innovation plan to optimize the gradient of the loaded track helped it considerably shorten the return time of mine cars.
At the same time it got dozens of stopes ready for mining by giving definite precedence to tunnelling.
As a result, the mine has increased yearly production 2.8 times over that when it started operating.
