The Pyongyang General Electric Cable Factory 326 set modernization goals scientifically in conformity with its detailed economic and technical conditions and characteristics and encouraged all its employees to turn out like one in technical innovation as masters of the development of their unit, thus making progress in consolidating its material and technical foundation.

Last year the factory provided the worksites for great upsurge with electric wires needed for them in a responsible manner by producing more power cables and insulated wires than before while overfulfilling its national economic plan and achieved remarkable successes in the quality control work. The factory thus became one of the top 10 businesses for 2024.

The factory was tasked with satisfying the growing demand for different kinds of electric wires in keeping with the situation in which all sectors and units of the national economy are waging a vigorous struggle to carry out the five-year plans.

“We ensured that the process of attaining the high modernization goals one by one just served as an important occasion for arousing the enthusiasm and creative activity of employees and increasing our own scientific and technical force,” said Kim Kwang Man, manager of the factory.

He went on to say that increasing a scientific and technical force needs a long-term perspective with which to look forward to several years or decades and that the factory is channelling effort into training a new generation of technicians and skilled workers in a far-sighted way in anticipation of a shift in generation while firmly relying on its own sci-tech force and enhancing their role.

The factory explored and applied rational methodologies to improve the selection, training and management of talents and encourage all workers and technicians to take part in the technical innovation drive.

In the course of this, significant successes have been achieved in consolidating production foundations, including the establishment of a new process for the production of materials needed for the making of copper bands for cable shielding and the realization of speed control of large- and medium-sized rubber extruders.

The factory increases production by introducing dozens of technical innovation plans and novel ideas invented through the operation of the sci-tech learning space, study-while-you-work system and production practice while positively involving workers in the introduction of new technologies.

The experience of the factory proves that when officials and all workers are prepared as creative persons and intelligent workers, instead of relying merely on a few experts, and when they are assigned specific tasks according to their abilities and level and mobilized, they can make greater achievements.
