Russian strategic nuclear force stages drill
October 27, 2025Russia recently conducted a military exercise involving ground, maritime and air elements of its strategic nuclear force under the guidance of President Putin.
During the drill, an ICBM was launched from a cosmodrome in Arkhangelsk to the Kura shooting range in Kamchatka and a ballistic missile was launched from a strategic nuclear missile submarine in the Barents Sea.
Tu-95MS strategic bombers took part in the drill to launch air-deployed cruise missiles.
According to the presidential information office on October 22, the exercise examined the readiness of military guidance organs and operational commanders’ abilities to command and organize subordinate units and all missions were accomplished.
