The Third Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security took place in Belarus on October 28 and 29.

Present there were high-ranking delegates of 48 countries and seven international organizations including foreign ministers of the DPRK, Belarus, Russia, Hungary and Myanmar.

Choe Son Hui, foreign minister of the DPRK, made a speech at the opening plenary meeting.

As the chair especially said it was an event that the high-level delegation of the DPRK, which has defended its sovereignty with strong mental strength despite the sanctions of the Western group for decades, was present in the meeting, the participants warmly applauded.

Congratulating on the successful opening of the meeting, Choe said that the meeting was a significant political gathering for establishing cooperative relations among all nations and countries in the Eurasian region and promoting the creation of a safe, fair and just multipolar world.

She referred to the fact that NATO, the biggest war machine in the world, is bringing the dark clouds of war to the whole of Europe while arousing a storm of extreme anti-Russian confrontation in the west of the Eurasian region and the US-led US-Japan-ROK tripartite military alliance system has gone into full-scale operation in the east, seriously threatening the security environment in the region.

Security in the region and the rest of the world is being shaken to its roots and this is attributable to the high-handedness, arbitrariness and double-standard moves of the US and its vassal forces resorting to undisguised military invasion, interference in internal affairs and war moves against sovereign states for propping up the hegemonic unipolar world, she disclosed.

In recent years, various bilateral and multilateral war games have continued to be staged against the DPRK simultaneously without vacuums in space and time and an unprecedented war crisis has been created as they involve scenarios for actual use of nukes, she said, adding that what is more serious is that NATO, which is supposed to be responsible for the security in the North Atlantic, has openly made a military intervention in the Asia-Pacific region including the Korean peninsula, leading to the beginning of the second NATO’s settlement in the eastern hemisphere of the earth.

No country and nation in the world want to live under pressure and domination by others and it is the independent right and common desire of all sovereign states to build up their own strength and develop their own way, she said, and stressed that in the future, too, the DPRK will neither stop even a moment nor make the slightest concession on the road of bolstering up its military capability for self-defence to defend its dignity, right to development and security interests and preserve peace in the region and the rest of the world.

She said that the adoption of a joint statement reflecting the unanimous aspirations of mankind loving independence, justice and peace at the meeting would be of great significance in strengthening unity and cooperation among the regional countries and defending global peace and security environment.

She expressed the consistent stand of the DPRK government to develop good neighbourly relations with all countries in the world aspiring after justice and independence and fulfill its responsible mission for building an equal multipolar world and ensuring global peace and security.

Meanwhile, she laid a wreath at the monument to the victorious patriotic war in Minsk.
