Chinese FM rejects Japan’s interference in internal affairs
November 9, 2025A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry denounced Japan’s interference in China’s internal affairs at a news conference on November 1.
The Japanese Prime Minister has recently met a staffer of the Taiwanese authorities and talked about it. In connection with this, the spokesman said that this is seriously contrary to the one-China principle and the basic rule of international relations and that it is very bad in terms of character and impact as it constitutes a wrong signal to the forces seeking the “independence of Taiwan”.
Japan, which had long enforced colonial rule over Taiwan, should be further prudent in its words and deeds as it has strict historical liability for the crime that it cannot impute to others in the Taiwan issue, he noted.
He stressed that the Chinese government strongly demands Japan reflect on its wrongs and discontinue its interference in the internal affairs of China.
