Iran’s Islamic revolution leader refers to cause of conflict with US
November 11, 2025Seyed Ali Khamenei, leader of Iran’s Islamic revolution, mentioned the root cause of conflict with the United States as he addressed university students on November 3.
The discord between Iran and the US is not a tactical opinion friction but is rooted in a fundamental divergence of opinion, he said, adding that the documents which were confiscated when Tehran-based US embassy was seized in 1979 clearly revealed the root of conspiracies against Iran’s Islamic revolution.
Noting that the US’ recent expression of willingness to cooperate with Iran contradicts its support for Israel, he stressed that the US should stop supporting the Zionist regime, withdraw its troops from the region and discontinue interfering in the regional affairs before anything else.
