Pyongyang musical instruments exhibition closes

The Twelfth Pyongyang Musical Instruments Exhibition closed with due ceremony at the Pyongyang International House of Culture on November 11.

During the exhibition the participants exchanged the advanced experience gained in putting the production of musical instruments on a scientific and modern basis and improving the quality of products.

Accordion, kayagum, oungum, trumpet and various other kinds of musical instruments presented by the Pyongyang Musical Instrument Factory, the Pyongyang National Musical Instrument Factory and the Kaechon Disabled Soldiers' Musical Instrument Factory attracted the participants' attention as they meet the Korean people's emotion and aesthetic sense and retain their unique tone qualities and shapes.

Through a sci-tech presentation held during the exhibition, the participants shared the successes and experience gained in the researches into and production of musical instruments.

Lecturers and students of Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun University of Music and Dance and children of Taedongmun Kindergarten in Central District, Pyongyang, gave a concert with the exhibited musical instruments.

Diplomas were awarded to the highly appreciated units and exhibitors at the closing ceremony.

Minister of Culture Sung Jong Gyu made a closing address.
