The Chinese deputy permanent representative to the United Nations rejected an unfounded accusation the US representative made as regards the climate issue in an open session of the UN Security Council on November 6.

The American representative slandered China, claiming that it emits a very large amount of carbon dioxide and pollutes environment. Taking issue with the defamatory remarks, the Chinese deputy representative disclosed that the US is recorded as a country releasing the largest amount of carbon dioxide in the world.

Openly going against history, the US repudiated the Paris agreement on climate change two times and seriously hindered the global climate control efforts to become the biggest obstacle in the way of international cooperation for responding to climate change, he denounced.

He added that the international community knows well who is shifting blame and causing confusion over the problem of climate change.
