The sound of people’s laughter is getting louder in the DPRK where a new era of comprehensive development of socialism is being ushered in.

Eye-opening miracles and innovations are performed and public welfare continuously promoted across the country, which is unthinkable apart from the guidance of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

The General Secretary, who defined the happy laughter of the people and the younger generation as a symbol of the socialist system and the mightiness of Korean-style socialism, is making his journey of guidance to different parts of the country to bring happiness to the people.

Setting the housing construction, an undertaking most welcomed by the people, as a primarily important policy task, he saw that 10 000 flats were built in Pyongyang every year during the period of the five-year plan and personally attended the groundbreaking and inaugural ceremonies.

Saying that the development of regions was just the comprehensive prosperity and growth of the state, he put forward the Regional Development 20×10 Policy and included in the policy the additional and simultaneous construction of advanced public health facilities, leisure complexes and grain storage facilities. He said there might be differences between regions in their geographical setting, resources, economic potentials and living environment, but there should be no backward region in the aspect of the people’s living in the territory of the DPRK and took new measures for hastening the epochal development of regions and comprehensive rejuvenation of the state while continuing his field guidance to different parts of the country.

He is making tireless thinking and efforts for the people without allowing a standstill and stop in the work for the people’s happiness.

Whenever a structure is built, he takes measures to make it more developed in scale and production capacity than previous ones and continuously comes up with blueprints of magnificent ideas for realizing the people’s desires.

He doesn’t mind going through any dangerous path if it were for the life and safety of the people.

In 2022, when a malignant virus made inroads into the country creating an emergency amid the sustained world health crisis, he regarded the pains suffered by the people as his own and sent reserve medicines of his family to them and visited pharmacies in the capital city to acquaint himself with the supply and sales of medicines, spearheading the campaign for defending the people.

When he received a report that residents on the banks of the Amnok River suffered flood damage in the summer of 2024, he led the effort for rescuing the flood victims from the jaws of death and visited the area several times to take measures to provide the afflicted people with better living places.

Thanks to the journey of guidance and devotion made by him, who ardently loves the people and dedicates his whole mind and body with a noble will to pluck a star from the sky if it were for their sake, a great deal of wealth for the happiness of people were created in the country in the past five years.

Every February witnesses the ceremony for the start of grand construction in that year and the whole country is busy moving into new houses every April, which has become the life and emotion peculiar to the state. Over the past several years, Songhwa, Jonwi, Hwasong and Rimhung streets and the Pothong Riverside Terraced Houses District have been magnificently built in Pyongyang and modern dwelling houses with regional features rose up in different parts of the country, and thus the sound of people’s laughter of happiness and cheers of excitement are becoming louder.

The regional-industry factories, which were built in 20 cities and counties last year as the first entities of the regional development policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea, put production on a regular basis and the construction of those in 20 other cities and counties, hospitals and leisure complexes for this year is being pushed in the final stage.

Splendid offshore culture stations were built in Sinpho City and Ragwon County.

Facilities for cultural and leisure activities like the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area are brimming with joyful and happy laughter of people.

Nutritious foodstuffs, including dairy products, are regularly supplied to the children across the country and uniforms, school things, satchels and shoes to the students at state expense.

The people are always happy in the DPRK under the leadership of the General Secretary who continues his journey of devoted service for the good of people with the determination that there should be only advance and creation in the course of promoting the people’s welfare.
