Members of the young vanguard from across the DPRK set off on a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu, flying the flag of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League.

A kick-off meeting took place at the plaza before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il in Hyesan City of Ryanggang Province on December 1.

Present there were Kang Sin Chang, secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the youth league and members of the study tour group.

The participants laid a flower basket and bouquets before the statues of the great leaders and paid tribute to them.

Pak Myong Jin, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made a report at the meeting to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers referred to the fact that the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un led a march on horseback to leave immortal traces in the sacred Mt Paektu area and kindled the fierce flames of arming all the people across the country with the revolutionary spirit.

They called on all the members of the study tour group to fully demonstrate the might of patriotic youth in the ongoing general advance for ushering in a period of comprehensive prosperity of Korean-style socialism, remaining loyal to the ideology and leadership of Kim Jong Un by firmly carrying forward the tradition of loyalty and the baton of patriotism handed down by the generations that pioneered the revolution.

After the meeting was over, the members of the study tour group left for the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site.
