Venezuela exposes illegality of US’ ‘anti-drug operations’
December 5, 2025The Public Prosecutor General of Venezuela on November 26 exposed and condemned the illegality of the attacks the US is mounting on Venezuelan vessels in the Caribbean on the pretext of “anti-drug operations”.
The US’ attacks on the vessels are a violation of the UN convention on the law of the sea and all human rights treaties, he noted.
Venezuela does not make cocaine or marijuana, he said, adding that according to statistics released by the UN, drugs that flow into the US through his country are less than 5 percent of the total amount.
He strongly asserted that using lethal weapons against ships is a violation of the international law on humanitarianism.
