The 80-year ruling history of the Workers’ Party of Korea is unthinkable apart from the appellation of people.

The people-first principle upheld by the WPK embodies the Juche-oriented revolutionary philosophy, which identifies the people as the most precious and powerful being in the world, and reflects the thoroughgoing stand of the Party and the government, which endlessly love the people and are determined to satisfy their demands and serve their interests to the full.

That is why the Party came up with the slogan “Everything for the people and everything by relying on them!”

As the Party regards the people as the mainstay of the country and the roots of life and the devoted service for the good of them as its mode of existence, all its lines and policies and every state activity are consistent with the spirit of serving the people.

The Party regards them as its own flesh and blood and protects their life and destiny to the last.

When the country was faced with the top epidemic crisis amid the global public health crisis, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un went through every document related to the state epidemic prevention work.

In those days, he unhesitatingly visited the pharmacies in the capital city where a touch of the malignant disease still lingered on.

Heart-warming stories emerged in the course of the struggle to protect the people’s lives and property from natural disasters and are still told at present.

Flood victims in Taechong-ri of Unpha County, North Hwanghae Province, were provided with lodgings in the office building of the county Party committee, while the county officials worked in tents. And residents of flood-hit areas in North Hwanghae, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces were brought to the capital city of Pyongyang to let them enjoy all happiness and comforts.

The WPK makes sure that structures for the happiness of the people continue to be built despite extreme difficulties.

Modern streets and dwelling houses including wonderful farmhouses have been built across the country to be provided to working people and such modern bases for cultural and leisure activities as the Munsu Water Park, Mirim Riding Club, Masikryong Ski Resort, Yangdok Hot Spring Resort and Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area have been set up to enable the people to enjoy advanced civilization to their heart’s content.

The Party spares nothing for the well-being of the people.

It even withdrew service personnel from a military base to build the Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm for the locals in North Hamgyong Province. It also ensured that large-scale greenhouse farms were built in the Ryonpho area and Pyongyang’s Kangdong area.

Modern medical service facilities were built in the Munsu area of Pyongyang for promoting the people’s health. Especially, the Pyongyang General Hospital was inaugurated in October this year.

At state expense all the children across the country are provided with dairy products and other nutritious foods and schoolchildren with everything needed such as uniforms, bags, school things and shoes.

At present, the WPK is ushering in a new era of the overall development of socialism as it presses on with the implementation of the regional development policy.

Every area of the countryside is being transformed into a modern socialist rural community by getting rid of centuries-old backwardness. Regional-industry factories were set up in 20 cities and counties as the first entities of the regional development policy and offshore farms built in Sinpho City and Ragwon County for stepping up the development of local areas through the effective use of local resources.

The Party has led the revolution and construction to victory with a firm belief in the masses of the people, the motive force of the revolution, and by fully relying on them.

The victories and successes the Korean people have achieved have not come by any mysterious divine power, but they are a precious fruit of the leadership of the Party that has steered the revolution by believing in the people and relying on them and a valuable outcome of their patriotic devotion.

For the people and by relying on the masses of the people, the WPK will continuously advance the socialist cause towards victory by braving all sorts of difficulties and challenges.
