Venezuela resolutely rejects US’ threat of naval blockade

December 24, 2025

The US is intensifying pressure on Venezuela by rallying its large forces in the Caribbean Sea.

Insisting that the Venezuelan government is implicated in crimes including terrorism and drug and human traffic, the US ruler issued an order on December 16 to enforce a complete blockade against oil tankers of all targets of sanctions which go to and from this country.

The Venezuelan government issued a statement to resolutely condemn and reject the outrageous moves of the US.

The statement said that the US ruler made a grave and imprudent threat to Venezuela and his act is a violation of international law.

Venezuela will never return to colony, but continue to defend its independence and sovereignty, the statement noted, appealing to the international community to reject the US threat.

The permanent representative of Venezuela to the United Nations presented a letter of complaint to the UN Security Council to condemn the US for having committed grave acts including the use of arms, kidnapping and piracy and demand it stop the US interference in the legal transactions of Venezuelan oil.
