Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an enlarged meeting of the council of the defence ministry on December 17 that the Russian army is taking the strategic initiative on the whole front of the special military operations and advancing confidently, destroying the enemy group and reserve troops.

The year 2025 has marked an important stage in carrying out the tasks of the special military operations, he said, declaring that the Russian armed forces have liberated more than 300 residential areas including the enemy’s fortified large cities this year.

The war being waged in the Ukrainian territory was essentially caused by the West, he said, stressing that there is no such thing as civilized West today, but only the “total downfall” of the West.

He affirmed that the West has completely failed in all its attempts to bring down Russia and that Russia will surely attain the goal of the special military operations.
