Russian President Vladimir Putin made a speech at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on December 21.

The Eurasian Economic Union has firmly established its position as one of the independent and self-sufficient centres of the multipolar world which is being formed, he said, adding that expanding trade and exchanges and strengthening connections between member states of the union have brought substantial benefits to each of them and exerted a positive influence on the life and well-being of their citizens.

Such cooperation ensures the economic stability and solidity of member states and it is particularly important in the turbulence of the world economy, he stressed.
