Marking the New Year 2026, the Editorial Board of The Pyongyang Times extends warm greetings to all readers, who have got familiar with our newspaper.

Last year, too, we carried news of the DPRK and introduced the characteristic features of socialist Korea and the history and tradition of our country.

The Korean people accelerated their advance to achieve the comprehensive development of socialism and their self-sustaining capacity doubled.

Proud successes welcomed and acclaimed by the people were made in succession.

Major industrial sectors of the national economy fulfilled their production plans in a responsible manner and the agricultural sector achieved successes, while many major construction projects were completed successfully, with the result that economic development goals were attained.

Particularly, proud results were obtained in realizing the ideals and well-being of the people and the simultaneous development of the state was achieved as the projects specified in the more expanded and advanced regional development policy were launched and completed within last year

2025 was, indeed, a year of historic turn when the Korean people confidently crossed the finishing line in the implementation of the five-year plan in the spirit of dynamic advance for comprehensive development and charged the motive power for vigorously going over to a new stage.

In the New Year, too, they will make greater strides and strive to build a peaceful and happy society. Through The Pyongyang Times you will come to know about their devoted and creative efforts and amazing successes achieved through such exertions.
