General Secretary Kim Jong Un’s Revolutionary Activities

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, visited the construction site of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm on January 2 to congratulate and encourage all the young vanguard members and soldier-builders who greeted the significant New Year in the struggle to glorify the Ninth Congress of the WPK with proud labour achievements.

He was accompanied by leading officials of the WPK Central Committee and the Ministry of National Defence of the DPRK.

The young builders, who met Kim Jong Un, whom they had been longing to see so much, on the second morning of the New Year as if in a dream, were filled with great excitement and joy.

When he got off his private train, all the young builders enthusiastically cheered with great reverence for him who had started his leadership in the significant New Year at their construction site to give them warm parental blessing.

He greatly encouraged the young people, officers and soldiers who added glory to the noble name of their generation for the times and history out of boundless patriotism, loyalty and indomitable pioneering spirit and through a heroic struggle, deeming the Party's regional development plan and decision a supreme order.

Kim Jong Un made a congratulatory speech.

He said that he had rushed there right after the national events in Pyongyang were over to start the year 2026 together with the young vanguard members and soldier-builders greeting the New Year in the northwestern tip of the country far away from their families and beloved homes, and extended warm greetings of encouragement to them on behalf of the Party Central Committee, the government of the DPRK and all the people.

Saying that the young builders came to the grand construction site, to which the Party and the state attach importance, so as to transform the island area, which had severely been hit by natural disaster, into an ideal farming town in the new era in more than 500 days, he noted that during those days they opted for hardship and self-cultivation, instead of enjoyment and comfort, regarding it as a worthwhile choice of their youth, and cultivated the strong will and enthusiastic spirit of being able to overcome difficulties, make innovations and do patriotic work, and this is a valuable asset of a lifetime that cannot be bartered for anything.

Witnessing the great strength of the youth and every structure associated with the passion and sincerity of our younger generation, our people picture the eternal prosperity of their country, he said, adding that seeing them growing up to be robust, the people get convinced of the continuity of Korean-style socialism. He noted that there is no such younger generation as the Korean youth in the world and this is something very pleasant and satisfactory for the WPK responsible for the future destiny of the country.

Saying that it would be not long before the large greenhouse farm would be presented as a gift of loyalty to the glorious congress of the motherly Party, he noted that he would have a picture taken with them in the transformed area on the day of its inauguration and the Ninth Congress of the WPK would greet the proud young people in the plaza of the April 25 House of Culture where they had started their courageous advance.

He proposed that the young vanguard and soldier-builders, brave pioneers of new generation, give cheers of "Hurrah!" in chorus in reflection of their boundless respect and love for the motherland with the vigorous stamina of youth to make their cheers heard in Pyongyang and all other parts of the country and even deep in the centre of the earth.

All the young builders shouted aloud "Hurrah!" for the DPRK, the glorious motherland of all the people, which will prosper forever.

Kim Jong Un met and warmly encouraged the labour innovators.

All the participants made enthusiastic cheers as a token of their boundless gratitude to the tender-hearted father.

He warmly waved back to them for a long while, as he expressed expectations and belief that the young builders, who are giving full play to the revolutionary spirit and pattern of creation peculiar to the Korean People’s Army and the heroic stamina and fighting spirit peculiar to the Korean youth in the vanguard of the sacred struggle for the comprehensive development of the country, would more bravely and dynamically fight for the great and noble ideal of the DPRK and its bright future.

All the young vanguard members and soldier-builders loudly chanted slogans calling for devotedly defending the Party Central Committee and implementing the Party’s policies, looking up with overwhelming emotion to Kim Jong Un, who most highly appreciates the life of youth dedicated to the prosperity of the country and their feats and encourages them to wage a dynamic struggle and achieve a great victory.

That day he looked round the area of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm nearing completion.

The huge construction project and assembly of greenhouse equipment have been completed perfectly and the arrangement of the environs including tree planting is now progressing apace at the final stage.

Kim Jong Un recalled with deep emotion the days when he came up with a new regional development plan and pushed ahead with it to establish a large greenhouse farm on the banks of the Amnok River where a new life of socialism had settled after eradication of the aftermath of a natural disaster, and feasted his eyes on the precious asset of the country.

Through the construction of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm, we have more deeply realized the truthfulness and great power of self-sustenance and self-determination and come to more clearly observe the level of the working spirit and creativity we have firmly cemented and cultivated, he said, expressing his firm will to more ambitiously plan the undertakings for the promotion of the wellbeing of the people across the country and radical transformation of the regions and strenuously implement them.

Highly appreciating the patriotic zeal and devoted efforts of young builders who have created a new legend of gigantic transformation, breathing the same breath as and keeping pace with the Party, he referred to the issues of successfully finishing the arrangement of the environs of the farm and a series of tasks to be tackled in its operation and management in the future and gave an instruction as regards its inauguration ceremony.

His field guidance at the construction site of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm will be etched as a historic visit that instilled redoubled strength and courage into all the people, KPA service personnel and the youth across the country who are making steady progress with gigantic creation and transformation in order to greet the Ninth Congress of the Party with brilliant victories and glory.
