Crime-ridden Western society
January 6, 2026Various kinds of crimes continue to occur in succession in Western countries.
Nine people were fatally wounded in a recent stabbing incident in the UK. A 32-year-old criminal was reportedly prosecuted on suspicion of ten attempted murder cases. According to the statistics agency of the country, 51 527 cases of such crimes were recorded in England and Wales in 12 months alone until June 2025, and 196 of the cases were of murder.
A criminal psychologist attributed the rapidly increasing knife attacks to rampant violence in society, asserting that young people who grew up in a “culture that allows violence” will be engrossed in violence after becoming adults.
Shooting cases often occur in Sweden, Canada and other countries.
Among Western countries, the US is a country with the largest number of gun-related crimes.
In 2024 more than 40 000 people were shot to death in the US with the large-scale shooting cases numbering 503. The shooting cases on campus numbered 45, 32 of which occurred at primary and middle schools.
According to data available, the incidence of gun-related murder cases in the US is 8, 13 and 23 times as much as that in Canada, France and Australia.
Murder crimes occur in succession in Japan, too.
A man murdered his wife for the reason that she denied his words, a sister and brother tried to kill each other after quarrelling over money problem and women do not hesitate to kill their babies, regarding them as burdens.
Campuses are no exception.
According to data available, various kinds of violence at primary and middle schools in Japan in 2024 increased by about 20 percent as against 2023.
“My” assertion is just truth and in this world all the people except “me” are strangers and needless—this view on and logic of life common in Western society generate unimaginable crimes.
