Russia warns West against deploying armed forces in Ukraine
January 13, 2026Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on January 8 warned the West against deploying armed forces in Ukraine.
Recently, Britain and France agreed with the Ukrainian authorities to deploy their armed forces in Ukraine in case a cease-fire comes into effect in Ukraine.
As to this, Russia regards the deployment of the armed forces of Western countries in the Ukrainian territory as interference posing a direct threat to the security of not only Russia but also other European countries, she stressed.
She said that the West’s sub-units and military objects to be deployed in Ukraine would be legitimate targets of the Russian armed forces.
