The Workers’ Party of Korea is organizing and conducting in a bold way the work to realign the farm fields of the country into standardized ones and bring tideland under cultivation.

At the Eighth Congress of the WPK and plenary meetings of the Party Central Committee the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un set forth the long-term goal of agricultural development for laying a firm foundation for the stable development of agriculture while holding fast to the work to expand the area under cultivation by state efforts as a policy-oriented and strategic task and clarified the ways to attain it.

The unit in charge of land realignment set a goal to rezone paddy and dry fields in different provinces into standardized ones for mechanized farming, including land realignment and rezoning of reclaimed tideland fields in South and North Hwanghae provinces, during the period of the five-year plan and pushed ahead with the work to achieve it.

In the first year of carrying out the tasks set forth by the Eighth Party Congress, nearly 7 000 hectares of land were realigned, including the building of networks of facilities in over 2 800 hectares of reclaimed tideland nationwide.

The Honggondo, Ryongmaedo and Ansok tidelands and fields in different cities and counties of South and North Hwanghae provinces turned into those for mechanized farming.

Amid the intensified work to expand the area under cultivation, thousands of hectares of more land than planned were realigned in 2022 and over 8 000 hectares of land were turned into standardized fields for mechanized farming in 2023 and 2024 respectively.

As a result, over 33 500 hectares of land were realigned into such standardized fields and the building of networks of facilities in thousands of hectares of reclaimed tideland was finished throughout the country for five years until last year, laying a foundation for safer rice farming.

The officials and working people who turned out in rezoning land with a mind to greet the Ninth Congress of the WPK with greater labour achievements are making redoubled efforts.

They are overfulfilling daily plans by steadily conducting the work to ensure full operation of machines while inventing and introducing efficient equipment.

They also arrange work in a rational way to suit seasonal conditions and soil conditions and strictly comply with the requirements of the designs, thus bringing about good results.
