A Pyongyang municipal industrial design exhibition on the theme of "New era of regional transformation and industrial design" was opened on February 5 in celebration of February 16, the birthday of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Presented to the exhibition are more than 280 typical industrial designs, including those for signboards and ads displayed at public catering establishments in the residential area of Hwasong District and general guide maps of the newly-built Pyongyang General Hospital, Kangdong County Hospital, Ryonggang County Hospital and Kusong City Hospital. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un personally examined the aforesaid designs.

Industrial design experts, students and amateurs in the municipality produced more than 1 000 designs, models, products, etc. reflecting the characteristics of the stirring era when the capital and the regions undergo change simultaneously.

The designs for small lorries and rice harvesters and various ad designs are associated with the devoted efforts of creators.

Also on show are designs for trademarks and packages of products made at modern regional foodstuff and daily necessities factories, for various kinds of flowerpot stands and for decorations in studying environments.

In addition, there are designs for Korean costumes and seasonal clothes and for various kinds of school things, trademarks, packages, signboards and fonts and various models.

The designs for interior decorations of dwelling houses and fences of rural houses, which ensured the formative and artistic quality with novel ideas and unique creative techniques, are well depicted so that the regional people can be provided with more civilized living environments.
