The true features of the Korean People’s Army are being further highlighted along with the new era when a golden age of bolstering up military capabilities is being ushered in.

The KPA has undergone rapid development as the revolutionary armed forces with a powerful treasured sword during the past ten-odd years.

Thanks to the tireless efforts and devotion of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who energetically led the development of strategic weapons of the DPRK, the hydrogen bomb test, test-fire of various attack means and nuclear warhead explosion test were conducted successfully, the policy on the state nuclear force was legalized and Korean-style weapon systems were developed in succession, including ICBMs Hwasongpho-14 and Hwasongpho-15, the Pukkuksong weapon system as a powerful attack means capable of accurately and quickly carrying out strategic strike missions in any space under water and on the ground and the new-type ICBMs Hwasongpho-17 and Hwasongpho-18 type weapon systems capable of carrying super-large heavy-weight nuclear warheads.

The tactical nuclear attack submarine, a Korean-style underwater nuclear attack ship, was born to signal the start of a new chapter in bolstering up the naval force and the successful launch of a reconnaissance satellite enabled the DPRK armed forces to secure the capability of resolutely controlling any nuclear threat while possessing both the “eyes” to look over a very long distance and the strong “fist” to beat a very long distance.

The military capabilities of the DPRK armed forces were further strengthened by the development of Hwasongpho-16B, a new-type intermediate-range solid-fuelled ballistic missile, the submarine-launched strategic cruise missile Pulhwasal-3-31, the 600mm super-large multiple rocket, suicide attack drones of various types, the most perfect weapon system of latest ICBM Hwasongpho-19 and a new-type intermediate-range hypersonic ballistic missile and the launch of a new-type multi-mission destroyer.

The military hardware exhibition Defence Development-2025, which can be said to be the epitome of the development of the country’s defence science and technology and munitions industry, comprehensively showed the extent to which its defence capabilities have developed.

As shown by the successful test-fire conducted on January 27 to verify the effectiveness of a large-calibre multiple rocket launcher system upgraded with a new technology, the defence capabilities of the country have been strengthened continuously.
