China condemns Japan’s ambition for rearmament
February 10, 2026A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China denounced the Japanese right-wing forces’ ambition for rearmament at a press conference on February 3.
Noting that Japan has not thoroughly parted from militarism after the war, he said that the Yasukuni Shrine still houses the name tablets of war criminals and the Japanese right-wing forces are trying to dilute and beautify the history of aggression by revising history textbooks, etc.
He criticized Japan for scheming to revise the "three non-nuclear principles" as it openly clamours for the "possession of nuclear weapons", while increasing military spending every year and pursuing the development of offensive weapons.
This proves that it is a fact and reality and the actual line and action for Japan to accelerate its rearmament, he said, adding that the international community and regional countries stay highly alert to that.
Japan should learn a lesson from the history of its defeat, the spokesman stressed.
