Iran’s missile programme not for negotiations

February 14, 2026

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi stressed that Iran’s missile programme is not something for negotiations with the US at a press conference on February 7.

The US has been urging Iran to abandon its missile programme for several months, but it has resolutely rejected the demand, he said.

Noting that the missile programme can never be a bargaining chip, as it is for national defence, he warned that if the US attacks its territory, Iran will strike their military bases in the Middle East.
