A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry rejected the reckless remarks of the Japanese prime minister at a press conference on February 9.

The Japanese prime minister let loose reckless remarks that they should create an environment for visiting the Yasukuni Shrine. In this regard, the spokesman said that the Yasukuni Shrine, the spiritual tool and symbol which made the Japanese militarists ignite the fuse of war for overseas aggression, houses the name tablets of the war criminals who had committed grave crimes against humanity during the aggressive wars.

To deny historical liability for crimes means they intend to commit crimes again, he said, adding that Japan should have a correct view of its history of aggression, reflect on that and be prudent in its words and deeds in relation to the Yasukuni Shrine and historical issues.
