Greeting the Day of the Shining Star, the greatest national holiday, with the historic Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, which will open up a brighter prospect for the country and the revolution, just at hand, all the people across the country are recollecting from the bottom of their heart the noble revolutionary career and exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il that will be immortal along with the victorious development of Juche Korea.

Senior Party and government officials visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on February 16 to pay homage to President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the 84th birth anniversary of the Chairman.

They included Pak Thae Song, Choe Ryong Hae and Jo Yong Won, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and other senior Party and government officials, officials of the Party Central Committee, leading officials of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly, the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies, and commanding officers of the armed forces organs.

The Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche, was wrapped in a solemn atmosphere.

A flower basket sent by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was laid at the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Flower baskets in the name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK were placed before the statues.

The participants paid high tribute to President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at the statues.

At the halls of immortality where the great leaders lie in state, the participants made a deep bow to them.

All the participants renewed their firm pledge to fulfil the important duty entrusted by the Party and the people in the vanguard of the sacred struggle to attain the grand goal to be indicated by the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea by remaining faithful to the idea and leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un, holding higher the great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as the eternal banner of victory.
